Easter Basket Card

This top-fold Easter Basket Pocket Card is super simple to cut & assemble.
“Easter” is a single line font included with the SVG. It can be written with any compatible pen, or used with the foil system. (Example card doesn’t photograph well, but it is foil on a textured paper). The front of the card has the word “HAPPY” cut out, revealing the colors below, which turn out to be…

Easter Basket Card Inside

Easter Eggs in any color that you choose. The eggs are nesting in a bed of grass inside a brown wicker basket.

When I was a child, all our baskets were hidden by the Easter Bunny. I’ll never forget when the last one we just couldn’t find anywhere had been swapped for the canary cage (which was always covered at night) on a stand. No one questioned that maybe the canary wasn’t still where he belonged!

Our baskets always had eggs and candy in them, not like all the toys that children receive these days. I always hoped for a white chocolate lamb, which I much preferred to chocolate rabbits.

This basket can hold whatever surprise you would like to give (we don’t recommend chocolate!). It is PERFECT for Pocket Pals. We have the traditional Bunny, Chick, and Lamb available:

Bunny Pocket Pal
Chick Pocket Pal
Lamb Pocket Pal

But our newest Pocket Pal Friends have chosen to steal the spotlight by stowing away in the basket card.

Meet… Elephant and Piggy!

Of course, Elephant’s nose moves up and down, revealing his loveable smile. We chose to use some patterned cardstock, but he would be perfect in pink or blue!

And Piggy? He’s our dancer.

His lower legs are moveable to help him dance his Pig Jig, and his tail is back there, too, though you just grab a glimpse of it from the front.

And don’t forget that we’ll still include a link to the pirate hats that fit our Pocket Pals from our Newsletter. If you haven’t signed up yet, we’ll be sending a new one out on Sunday.

Someone on line the other day was asking what she could do with all the PATTERNED cardstock she had amassed. Well… here is the PERFECT solution!

This has got to be the fastest, easiest card to make, and is perfect with patterns.

You can actually cut out 3 full unframed eggs or 2 full framed eggs from one piece of double sided 12″ x 12″ cardstock.

Our instructions include how to move everything for the framed version to one mat (DS will try to put it on two mats). It also explains which pieces to reverse if you want contrasting colors to show.

With Chick Pocket Pal

All of these eggs are 4″ wide x 5″ tall. The bottom half is glued around the edges to form a pocket, and of course our Pocket Pals fit perfectly in them. (Note the cute chick above).

You can make 3 hinged egg cards from one piece of 12 x 12, or go through your scrap drawer and make each one unique!

This is the same orange egg with some trim added. These orange eggs were made from cardstock scraps.

However, the pink eggs below were made from ONE piece of cardstock that had very different patterns on the front and back.

With Lamb Pocket Pal

Regular 8.5 x 11″ cardstock can also be used. One full egg including the trimming can be cut on one piece. If you cut two or three different colored pieces, you can mix and match them all with each other!

As long as you are going to be making a QUICK, EASY card for Easter, here’s a suggestion to make our Pocket Pals a SUPER FAST Project!

Download our Pocket Pals… then rather than cutting all the separate pieces and gluing the layers together… move the “moveable” parts to the side, FLATTEN the rest, do a print/cut! Then do the same thing with the movable parts. (Actually, I would recommend NOT flattening the “back” layer (which is black) so there is still some support.

Don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter if you want direct information on how to download our latest offerings. (Hint… the Kitten and Monkey Pocket Pals are almost ready to upload…) Often we put links to offers that don’t show up here in our blog or on Facebook.

This simple yet beautiful card helps the maker and the recipient focus on the true meaning of the Easter Season.

Lyrics from the popular hymn start the “earbug” affect… sure to get you humming as you are working.

With the ultimate message of rejoicing on the inner panel! A removable image of the resurrected Jesus Christ comes out of the pocket. There are other images in the Cricut DS Access files that could easily be substituted for this one. (Some are shown on the included instruction sheet.)

The Spring Blossoms are created using pens along with layering.

We think this card would be a lovely surprise for an Aunt, Uncle, Parent, Grandparent, or friend.

We’re going to send an extra link to our newsletter subscribers that will include a version with written rather than cut-out lyrics, as well as an option for print & cut (rather than penned and layered) flowers. If you’d like that version, then sign up for our newsletter! The signup is on the right if you are on a computer, or scroll down if you are on your phone.

Peeka’s Pocket Cards are not just for money, gift cards, and love notes… they are also for Pocket Pals! These first three Pocket Pals fit perfectly in the pockets of our just released Easter Egg Cards.

Stripes & Polka Dots

Both cards are trifold (three panels) with cutouts in the first panel and completely colored egg in the second panel. Feel free to glitz it up with a sparkly outline!

We used a patterned paper for one, and a plain paper for the other. The pattern is actually a bit busy on the inside, but fun anyway! And, of course, there is a pocket on the inside! That’s what we are all about!

And our new POCKET PALS fit perfectly inside the cracked-open egg! Each Pocket Pal comes with attached parts that fold down to enable the Pal to fit in the pocket, then fold up for fun!

We’ve added a third Pocket Pal in this Easter grouping… an adorable Lamb.

If you download the Easter Pocket Pal Pack, we’ll also include an SVG for an easel stand, or a stand you can glue to the back of the Pocket Pal.

More Pocket Pals will be released VERY SOON… including a lion, a dog, and others that are already in the works. Sign up for our NEWSLETTER (on the right on a PC or at the bottom on your phone) so you won’t miss them! Our goal is to keep them coming with new unique cards so you can send monthly to grandkids, shut ins, or anyone you care about! (Hmmm… sounds like a Pocket Pal of the Month Club!)
